After 3 hrs waiting I was greeted by the triage nurse with’we are just letting you know it’s going to be at least another 4-6hours before you see anyone do you want to leave and go home.I asked for some advice as I had been unsure if I should have come to A and e only to be told ‘Idont give advice or I may loose my registration and I have a dog and a mortgage to pay! I wasn’t asking medical advice just if it was advisable to leave without investigations taking place. I stated that if I went home I would not want it recording that I had refused treatment I was assured this would not happen.today I discover this is exactly what was recorded!! I asked about returning at a less busy time and was informed if this was the case I would not really be eligible for an a and e appointmentas at that point it would not be classed as an emergency. Consulting with my GP today she was at lengths to assure me this was not the case.At no point did this nurse ask me about my problem with me having to say ‘Do you want me to tell you why I’m here.(a fall at home severe pain in my ribs)I really felt let down with the approach I received from this triage nurse Caring and sympathetic are certainly not words to be associated with my visit!!!

Better information during stay about waiting times, Triage nurse to at least show some interest in me instead of seemingly to be only concerned about getting me to leave and to return home to shorten their waiting list!. Less emphasis by triage nurse on not giving any help or advice rather than showing no interest in me or my condition.

Not being from this area when I fell was very happy with the care & facilities at this hospital.

Just the long waiting times but not too much bother if you have someone with you to help

Was grateful to receive a sandwich during my stay, but didn’t find it at all a healthy .

I was in extreme pain and left like that Eventually in tears I stopped a doctor and begged him to give me some pain relief. He wasn’t the consulting doctor but he sorted everything. It was a very bad experience

I should not have driven to cry before I was helped

The Dr who looked after me (Mo) was very caring, very polite and explained thing extremely well. He's a real asset to your team.

The Nurse who was dealing with my care was rude, loud, argued with the Doctors when they asked her to do something and made me feel stupid for being in a&e, even though I had been sent by my GP. She has a terrible manner with patients and as far as I am concerned, needs to find a new profession.

The staff were very passionate about the welfare of all the patients and carried out their duties very professionally! A credit to the NHS
